Definition

European Residual Mix is an adaptation of the Residual Mix energy accounting practice that aims to remedy the challenge of cross-border energy and energy certificate flows.

The electricity residual mix of a country represents the share of electricity supply for which the energy source is not proven through cancellation of Guarantee of Origin certificates or other Reliable Tracking Mechanisms.
