Definition

Timestamp. By time-stamping a file, for instance through the Blockchain, it is possible to prove that the file existed at a certain point in time. A hash of the file is included in the block as a transaction. When somebody at a later stage wants to prove the existence of this file at the time of the block's creation, he/she simply regenerates the hash.
