Definition

Supply Chain Risk Management denotes any tailored Risk Management methodologies that are adapted in particular for managing Supply Chain Risk as this applies to either the Physical Supply Chain, the Financial Supply Chain or both.

Supply Chain Risk Management is also part of more general Supply Chain Management

Elements

Supply Chain Resilience

Due to the complexity of some supply chains (which may preclude a more low level analytic approach to risk management), the concept of supply chain resilience aims to enhance "The adaptive capability of the supply chain to prepare for unexpected events, respond to disruptions, and recover from them by maintaining continuity of operations at the desired level of connectedness and control over structure and function" [1]
