Definition

An SME Credit Score is a quantitative (numerical) indicator of the Credit Quality (credit worthiness) of an SME borrower.

Context

While the Creditworthiness of larger corporate entities is typically encapsulated in a Credit Rating, smaller companies are not in general rated individually. Instead, the Credit Risk analysis of a Lender may utilize a Credit Score (a methodology also applied to consumer finance.
