Definition

Risk Data Integration involves combining Risk Data residing in different sources and creating a unified view of them.

Data integration can be implemented via:

  • a data warehouse, where ETL processes extract data from source databases into the data warehouse
  • virtual data integration approaches where queries are run against a mediated scheme

Risk Data Integration (at the technical level) is a prerequisite for Risk Data Aggregation, the formation of integrated risk management views

Issues and Challenges

  • The semantic integration problem, how to resolve semantic conflicts between heterogeneous data sources
