Price

Definition

Price. Some monetary value ascribed to something, as being a measure of its value or perceived value.

At this point in the model we do not distinguish between valuations (as for insurance purposes) and prices as quoted in market data price feeds and the like. These are pinned down at the point where different kinds of price are defined such as quote prices, trade prices and so on. At this highest level, price is essentially synonymous with valuation.
