Maturity Extension Notification. Notification of an extension to the maturity date of a bond by the issuer, in line with existing terms and conditions.
As stipulated in a bond's Terms and Conditions, the issuer or the bondholder may prolong the maturity date of a bond. After extension, the security may differ from original issue (new rate or maturity date). May be subject to bondholder's approval. Note that the definition given for this in SWIFT is really narrative. New definition drafted in its place.
