Definition
International Bank Account Number. (IBAN) It is an Account Identifier (number) written in a standardized and internationally recognized format which is used to identify an individual account, making it faster and easier to process cross-border transactions across Europe.
An IBAN is made up of a code that identifies the country the account belongs to, the bank the account belongs to, followed by the account number.
