Definition
Energy Security is the ability of an entity (in particular a country) to maintain access to reliable and affordable energy resources. It is one of the manifestations of more general Energy Risk.
In the context of the energy security of countries, energy security is affected by Geopolitical Risk.
Energy security implies an adversarial risk factor. The related Energy Risk Events may be the result of individual or collective including state sponsored) hostile actions.
