Energy Product[1]
The PEFA classification includes 20 energy products. Alternative classifications from Eurostat and SIEC.
Primary energy products are extracted or captured directly from natural resources such as
- crude oil
- hard coal
- natural gas etc.
Secondary energy products are those products which are not primary. Secondary energy products derive from the transformation of primary products. Examples include
- petroleum products (secondary) from crude oil (primary)
- coke oven coke (secondary) from coking coal (primary)
- charcoal (secondary) from fuel wood (primary) etc.
Secondary products may further derive from other secondary products.
