Definition
EURO1. It is a large-value payment system for same-day euro transactions at a Pan-European level, which processes transactions of high priority and urgency and primarily of a large amount at a domestic and cross-border level on a multilateral net basis.
Currently, EURO1 processes in excess of 250,000 payments per day, with an overall value of approximately €210 billion. EURO1 is based on a messaging and ICT infrastructure provided by SWIFT.
