Definition
Credit File denotes in general the information set pertaining to a borrower that is kept by a credit product provider (Bank, Credit Insurer)
Credit File Contents
The contents of a credit file may vary significantly. In general the larger the Credit Exposure the more detailed the information included in the credit file. An indicative list:
- Historic (performance) account information (credit history, ratings history, periodic reviews)
- Collateral information
- Collateral appraisal (valuation) reports
- Credit papers (credit mark-ups, lender report)
- Loan applications and credit decisions
- Facility offer letters
- Loan and pledge contracts
- Financial statements
- Details of connected accounts
- Agreements relating to guarantees, lien on collateral, etc
- Details of tax affairs of the debtor
