Definition

Capital goods are goods, other than material inputs and fuel, used for the production of other goods and/or services.

Capital goods include

  • factory buildings
  • machinery
  • locomotives
  • lorries and tractors.


Land (Real Estate) is not usually regarded as a capital good.
