Definition

The EECS Energy Input Code on an EECS Certificate establishes the energy input (source) of the EECS Production Device which generated the Output, for which the EECS certificate is issued.

On each EECS certificate, one code is mentioned for the Energy Input (energy source) and one for the Technology.

The standard organizes energy inout codes in a hierarchical tree with several levels.

Example

  • Level 1 Code: 01 Renewable
  • Level 2 Code: 05 Mechanical Source or Other
  • Level 3 Code: 02 Hydro & Marine
  • Level 4 Code: 00 Unspecified
  • Final Code: F01050200
