Definition

Materials Consumed. The major products used by the manufacturing and mining industries. The Census Bureau collects information only on the most important materials consumed by a particular industry and for which cost information is available from its records. Materials consumed are sometimes referred to as “table 7” inputs because they have been shown in table 7 of the publications.[1]
