Depreciation

Definition

Depreciation. Decline in the value of an asset over time. As usually calculated in financial accounting is a method of allocating the costs of past expenditures on fixed assets over subsequent accounting periods. In the case of Natural Capital, when humanity's demand exceeds the regeneration rate, ecosystems depreciate.
