Sponsor. The term “financial sponsor” may refer to an investment firm that undertakes
- private equity investments in and/or leveraged buyouts of companies with the intention of exiting those investments on a medium-term basis
- other equity investments
More generally it may refer to any entity that is main decision maker / key individual in relation to a Counterparty Group
