GHG Project Activity

From Open Risk Manual

Definition

A GHG Project Activity is a specific action or intervention targeted at changing GHG Emissions, removals, or storage.

It may include modifications to existing production, process, consumption, service, delivery or management systems, as well as the introduction of new systems.

Under the GHG Project Protocol, properly identifying and defining project activities is crucial. GHG reductions are determined separately for each project activity associated with a GHG Project.

A GHG project may be a stand-alone project or a component of a larger non-GHG project, and may be comprised of one or more project activities. If a GHG project involves more than one activity, its total GHG reductions are quantified as the sum of the GHG reductions from each project activity.
