Data Completeness

Definition

Data Completeness denotes the degree to all required data are available in the dataset [1]

A measure of data completeness would be the percentage of Missing Data entries

Types of Completeness

In the context of database completeness can be refined into[2]

  • Schema completeness: defined as the degree to which entities and attributes are not missing from a database schema
  • Column completeness is a function of the missing values in a column of a table
  • Population completeness amounts to evaluating missing values with respect to a reference population
