Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) is a Committee of the Bank for International Settlements which provides a forum for regular cooperation on banking supervisory matters. Its objective is to enhance understanding of key supervisory issues and improve the quality of Banking Supervision worldwide.
The most important regulatory frameworks are known as Basel II and Basel III. Representatives of central banks and supervisory authorities from different countries are members of the BCBS.
