Financial Disclosure in the Banking, Insurance and Securities Sectors: Issues and Analysis.

Abstract

Abstract

In June 1999, a Multidisciplinary Working Group on Enhanced Disclosure (Fisher II working group) was established to provide advice to its sponsoring organisations (BCBS, CGFS, IAIS and IOSCO) on steps that would advance the state of financial institutions' disclosures of financial risks in order to enhance the role of market discipline. The BCBS, IAIS and IOSCO, seeking to follow up on the recommendations contained in the Fisher II report, established (through the Joint Forum) a Working Group on Enhanced Disclosure (the Working Group). This report outlines the Working Group's findings.
