Asset Management Company

Definition

An Asset Management Company is a Special Purpose Vehicle for cleansing bank balance sheets. A credit institution can transfer non-performing assets (NPA) to an AMC, subject to certain requirements and conditions being met. AMCs are often referred to as "bad banks".[1]
