Upstate University Hospital, affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY) system, told 283 patients recently of a late March data breach involving the theft of a portable electronic device. According to centralny.ynn.com, patient names, date of birth, hospital medical record number, and diagnosis may have been included on the device when it was stolen on March 30 or 31. However, fortunately for the patients, it did not include Social Security number, insurance information or address. (English)
