Definition
Consumer Finance (also Retail Banking) denotes all financial service provision towards individual (retail) clients. Finance provided to individual and household consumers, such as mortgages and motor vehicle loans.
Issues and Challenges
- The use of the term is loose. It implies that all borrowing by individuals is for consumption purposes which need not be the case
