Definition

Credit File denotes in general the information set pertaining to a borrower that is kept by a credit product provider (Bank, Credit Insurer)

Credit File Contents

The contents of a credit file may vary significantly. In general the larger the Credit Exposure the more detailed the information included in the credit file. An indicative list:

  • Historic (performance) account information (credit history, ratings history, periodic reviews)
  • Collateral information
  • Collateral appraisal (valuation) reports
  • Credit papers (credit mark-ups, lender report)
  • Loan applications and credit decisions
  • Facility offer letters
  • Loan and pledge contracts
  • Financial Statements
  • Details of connected accounts
  • Agreements relating to guarantees, lien on collateral, etc
  • Details of tax affairs of the debtor
