Definition

Private Equipment And Software Expenditures. NIPA final-demand component for investment in equipment and software by businesses and by nonprofit institutions.

This component was previously referred to as producers’ durable equipment (PDE). The estimates of PES are generally made using the commodity-flow method.[1]
