Senior CDO Tranche

Definition
Senior CDO Tranche. The most senior tranche of the CDO issue. Typically rated A to AAA. If there are defaults or the CDO's collateral otherwise underperforms, scheduled payments to senior tranches take precedence over those of mezzanine tranches.
